WHAT IS AUTOIMMUE DISEASE
In autoimmune diseases, our immune system, designed to
protect us against external invasion, becomes our foe.
The antibodies in the blood are attacking the fats, tissues,
organs, or DNA inside our cells. Like an automobile operating with adulterated fuels, immune dysfunctions are common in our
chemically-overloaded environment.
A growing numbers of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases are attributed
to causes within the body and its surroundings. When the human body is overloaded with toxins, the immune system becomes overloaded
and irritated. Consequently, it responds to these toxins with excess inflammatory chemicals and antibodies because the immune
system is in a hyper-stimulated state. This often leads to a wide variety of immune-related illnesses,
like swollen glands, recurrent infections, chronic-fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, systemic lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, primary biliary cirrhosis, vasculitis, sclerosing cholangitis, sarcoid, multiple sclerosis, lupus erythematosus, iritis, uveaitis thyroiditis, ulcerative colitis,
vitiligo (loss of skin pigmentation), and sjorgrens syndrome that is characterized by dry eyes and dry mouth.
With regard to food allergies from wheat, corn, and dairy and their relation to autoimmune illnesses,
the circulating immune complexes, or CICs, start out as extra-large protein molecules that are only partially digested in
the small intestine and before being absorbed into the bloodstream. Once in the bloodstream, the immune system treats them
as invaders because they are too large to be metabolized, provoking an immune reaction. Antibodies couple with these foreign
protein invaders to form CICs. At first, these CICs may be neutralized in the lymphatic system. But over time, as more CICs
are created, they overwhelm the body's ability to eliminate them. They overwhelm the immune system and the kidneys. At that
point, the body has no choice but to “store” them in its soft tissues, where the immune system continues to attack
them as allergens causing inflammation and, ultimately, autoimmune disorders.
Conventional medicine responds
to autoimmune diseases with suppressive steroids (e.g. prednisone and azathioprine) which further exacerbate the toxic load
of the immune system and push hyper-stimulation over the top. These steroids arrest hyper-stimulation by suppressing the immune
responses to exogenous or endogenous inducers. Adversely, they lower the overall immune system response and expose humans
to wide varieties of contagious diseases.
Autoimmune hepatitis is associated with an increase in circulating antinuclear
antibodies and gamma globulin which leads to inflammations in the liver. In other autoimmune diseases of the liver like primary
biliary cirrhosis, the immunological cells attack the smallest bile ducts in the liver, causing obstruction and inflammation.
Serum protein electrophoresis and immunological testing are used to diagnose autoimmune hepatitis.
Patients with auto immune hepatitis develop cirrhosis and will eventually require liver transplants despite the use of steroids
in management of cirrhosis. Steroid prescriptions for patients with autoimmune hepatitis usually results in weight gain. In
such situations, it is advisable to use a varied and well-balanced diet.

The alternative management
of these different auto immune diseases are the same. These is no special way to manage sarcoid differently from
lupus, multiple sclerosis or arthritis. They basically revolve around the immune system and detoxification. Its about cleaning
the blood, liver, colon, lymp, skin and flushing the kidney
EFAs are needed to fight inflamatory component of auto immune diseases
The digestive
system houses the immune system and colon care is pivotal in all auto immune system diseases. The colon is also called the
second brain. It houses the Gut associated lymphoid tissue(GALT) which is over 70% of the entire lymphatic-immune system.
The colon through enter hepatic circulation feeds the liver with fresh nutrient filled fresh blood supply. Dirty, waste filled
colon means we supply the liver with poisoned blood. This is what causes toxic blood syndrome. From the colon,we can heal the
body of all diseases. What we feed to colon through nutrition goes to the liver. Cleaning the colon is the most important house
keeping adventure we need to do periodically. Please read moore
The liver help
get rid of toxins in our body. As a filter,it makes sure that the blood is clean, which in turn
helps in proper functions of the various other organs in the human body. Liver cleanse and detoxification
not only cleans the liver by affects all organs of the body without side effects.to remove impurities that cause auto
immune diseases from the body,we have to start from the liver. Please read moore
The colon has always been referred to as the second brain since almost all of the operational centers of the immune system
reside in the digestive tract. Nutritionist and Naturopaths believe that life begins and end in the colon. The best way to
manage any illness is to attend to colon health. Proper elimination, digestion and absorption of nutrients is a major
buffer against organ degeneration apart from psychosomatic stress. Cleansing of the large with liquids is enema. It
is a procedure that has been in practice for over 4,000years. Please read moore
A coffee enema is also very useful when we want to flush bile from the liver and gallbladder. The effects of having a coffee
enema are not the same as drinking coffee. The veins of the anus are very close to the surface of the tissue. The enzymes
in coffee, known as palmitates, help the liver carry away the toxins in bile acid. This enzyme gets the liver to produce an
Enzyme that cleans the blood. Please read moore
Our body is designed to utilize natural substances, which includes foods, herbs and phytochemicals.
Any foreign substance will serve as a stimulus to our immune system, which has the function of removing these substances.
Although the toxicity of a chemical may vary, it is the job of the liver to reduce toxins into compounds that the body can
safely handle and eliminate through the kidneys (as urine), skin (as sweat), lungs (as expelled air) and bowels (as feces).
Maintaining these eliminative organs in good working order is essential for one’s good health to continue.Read moore

MANAGING AUTOIMMUNE
DISEASES If weight gain from prescription steroids is excessive, it is advisable to reduce foods high in calories.
These foods include sweets, sugars, cakes, biscuits, fried foods, pies, crisps, and chocolates. Low-fat versions of these
foods are advised. Immunological testing for the presence of anti-mitrochrondial and antinuclear antibodies and liver
biopsy are used in the diagnosis of primary biliary cirrhosis. Bile acids like ursodiol are used in the management of primary
biliary cirrhosis. The disease eventually progress to the need for a liver transplant.
COMPLIMENTARY
ALTERNATIVE REMEDIES FOR AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES
• The first rule in alternative medicine is to remove
the probable-cause toxins.
• Eliminate all recreational drugs and risky lifestyles like alcohol and tobacco use, environmental allergies,
irritants, and paying close attention to the water, food, medicines, and chemicals in the work and home environment.
This is usually very beneficial in removing exogenous causes and halting the progression of the illness. I recommend replacing
cow’s milk with any of the following: organic rice milk, organic goat milk, or soy milk. Organic foods, filtered
water, free-range poultry, grass-fed meats, and wild-caught sea foods.
• Heavy metal detoxification with organic juicing and chelation therapy are highly recommended . This helps to eliminate probable endogenous causes.
• Other detoxification therapies include colonics, enemas, foot detox, and infrared saunas. • Eliminate psychosomatic stress.
Dr. Mercola - "A 1997 Lancet study showed that soy has glycosides of genistein and daidzein or plant
based chemicals that mimic estrogen. They possess a wide range of hormonal and non-hormonal activities. Soy formula is one
of the worst foods that you could feed your child. Not only does it have profoundly adverse hormonal effects as discussed
above, but it also has over 1000% more aluminum than conventional milk based formulas. It is becoming increasingly common
for young children, even 5- and 6-year-olds, to go through precocious puberty (aka early sexual development). The introduction of this report even states that studies have found girls as young as 2 years
old entering puberty! This is clearly a multi-faceted problem, but I believe one of its main causes stems from your environmental
exposure to a whole slew of endocrine-disrupting chemicals. Even the conservative US government has recognized that
soy formula is a potent endocrine disruptor. There is absolutely no reason to ever give your child soy formula or soy milk. It is one of
the worst foods you could possibly give your child and the long-term health complications can be quite significant. Prostate
and breast cancer, early puberty, endometriosis and infertility, irregular and painful menstrual periods are only a few of
the things your children will have increased risk for if they are given soy formula or soy milk. If you have already given
your child these foods the best way to reverse the damage is to have them rigidly follow the eating plan. The nutrition from whole organic foods is the most potent corrective force for these disruptions in hormones. If you still
aren't convinced of the dangers of soy you might want to review the protest letter two FDA experts wrote earlier this year
which points to studies that show a link between soy and health problems in certain animals." more
This compelling memoir of a life-or-death struggle with immune deficiency and the medical profession
illuminates that dark side of medicine where unfounded beliefs substitute for scientific knowledge. You must read this book
if you have unexplained medical problems such as debilitating fatigue and pain - you can't think clearly because of
brain fog - your doctor implies that it's all in your head - you want help and inspiration to find the cause and a solution.
"Immune Dysfunction: Winning My Battle Against Toxins, Illness and
The Medical Establishment is the personal and compelling story of Judith Lopez and her experiences with medical mismanagement
and malpractice. Judith documents her struggle with a mystery malady that was life threatening. All the while her doctors
sought to discount chronic fatigue syndrome, yeast syndrome, and environmental illnesses as merely sociogenic problems, the
result of a mass hysteria or psychosomatic illness. After a twenty year battle with an illness the medical community proclaimed
to be non-existent, Judith finally connected with Doctor Vincent Marinkovich, a Stanford professor and authority on clinical
immunology and allergy, who was able to understand and treat her symptoms. Immune Dysfunction is a powerful and engaging medical
memoir and highly recommended reading for anyone suffering from any form of environmentally generated illness whose physicians
are trying to palm off as a form of hysteria or mental illness, as well as medical students, health workers, and practicing
physicians concerned with the proper diagnosis and treatment of the rapidly growing numbers of men, women, and children who
are experiencing environmentally driven immune system dysfunctions. " an amazon reviewer
Steroids are used in the treatment of autoimmune disease and inflammations.Doctors tell you that steroids (cortisone, prednisone)
only cause side effects after many years. But new research shows that permanent damage is immediate and devastating. Studies
show that steroids can cause permanent, debilitating effects after a single dosage. Inflammation contributes to more
pain, disease, and disability than any other condition. Unfortunately, many people unwittingly eat foods that greatly contribute
to inflammation.
This is a great book for anyone interested in improving their health or in
obtaining ideas for difficult to solve health problems including allergies, food and environmental sensitivities, etc. It
has a great deal of details which many other books lack and has chapters on food & nutrition, stress, and alternative
therapies with many ideas for boosting your own immunity to common and rare health problems. Moore
The immune system is a scapegoat for a variety of ills in this wide-ranging
but tendentious guide to approaching diseases like lupus, Crohn's disease, MS, and rheumatoid arthritis. The author argues
that autoimmune disorders, in which a malfunctioning immune system attacks healthy tissues, are caused or triggered by environmental
toxins, especially heavy metals and free radicals. Drawing on his experience treating patients for the above disorders as
well as chronic fatigue syndrome and autism, he recommends a variety of unconventional regimens to purge toxins from our bodies
and surroundings, including chelation therapy, herb, vitamin and anti-oxidant supplements, an organic diet free of additives
and allergens, sauna and massage, and the systematic use of air and water filters. Edelson provides detailed information in
chapters covering specific autoimmune disorders, but his claims of a "fantastic" treatment record for some of them
rely on anecdotal case studies of diseases that sometimes go into spontaneous remission. By the tenets of "clinical molecular
medicine," he claims, "I don't need to know the specific autoimmune disorder a patient has, because the label doesn't
matter." Since no specific disease label need be applied, such widespread and indeterminate "symptoms" as "fatigue,"
"depression," "muscle and joint pain," "frustration," "sparse hair," "brain fog"
and "general malaise" can be construed as signs of the immune dysfunction. While this book offers information on
conventional treatments and physicians, its orientation is decidedly elsewhere.Moore
Did you know that the root cause of serious chronic diseases such as heart
disease, Alzheimer's disease, cancer, arthritis, and asthma has been identified as chronic inflammation? Although numerous
studies have confirmed these findings, few physcians are aware of or consider the fact that the battle against inflammation
is at the forefront of the fight for health and well-being of the global population. Authors Joseph Maroon and Jeffrey Bost
have set out to reverse that trend with "Fish Oil: The Natural Anti-Inflammatory." Pharmaceujtical companies have
spent billions of dollars in an attempt to understand the bio-chemistry of inflammation. Unfortunately, pharmaceutical anit-inflammatories
such as Celebrex, Vioxx, and Bextra have been shown to greatly increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, and uncontrollable
gastric hemorrhage, with potentially fatal consequences. Is there a safer alternative? Absolutiely! The answer lies in the
power of the omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil, undeniably the most under-recognized and also the most petent natural
anti-inflammatory available. With compelling arguments and the results of thousands of clinical studies to support them. the
uathors explain in plain and simple terms; How the inflammation process works and how it can evolve into a chroninc condition
that is the cause of many diseases; How fatty acids work in the body; Why supplementtion with omega-3 fatty acids can restore
the body's balance and mitigate the effects of inflmmatory factors; and why fish oil is the best source of omega-3 fatty acids,
and how to identify good-quality fish oil supplements.Moore
Fish oils and the immune system
OXFORD, UNITED KINGDOM. Animal studies have shown that an increase
in fat intake can decrease the number of natural killer (NK) cells found in the blood and spleen. NK cells are an integral
part of the natural immune response to virus infections and certain types of cancer. Researchers at Oxford University now
report that fish oil significantly decreases NK cell activity in healthy human subjects.
Their clinical trial
involved 48 men and women aged 55 to 75 years. The participants were randomized to receive one of six supplements for 12 weeks.
The supplements were all provided in the form of capsules, three of which were to be taken with each meal. The nine capsules
(daily intake) contained either a total of 2 g alpha-linolenic acid, 770 mg gamma-linolenic acid (from evening primrose oil),
680 mg arachidonic acid, 720 mg docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), 720 mg eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)+ 280 mg DHA (fish oil) or a
placebo (an 80:20 mix of palm and sunflower oils). All the participants had blood samples taken four weeks before start of
supplementation, immediately before start of supplementation, and then every four weeks during the trial as well as after
a four-week washout period. The researchers found no changes in killer cell activity except in the group taking fish oil.
Here they observed an average decline of 20 per cent after 8 weeks and 48 per cent after 12 weeks. The decline was completely
reversed after the washout period. The fact that no decline was observed with pure DHA strongly suggests that EPA was responsible.
The researchers conclude that an excessive EPA intake could have adverse effects for people at risk of viral infections and
some cancers. Editor's Note: The British researchers' speculation about fish oils perhaps affecting the effectiveness of NK
cells in killing cancer cells is at odds with the results of many other studies. There are at least a dozen studies that show
a clear protective effect of fish or fish oil against breast, colon, and prostate cancer. NOTE: This study was partly funded
by Unilever. [54 references] Thies, Frank, et al. Dietary supplementation with eicosapentaenoic
acid, but not with other long-chain n-3 or n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids, decreases natural killer cell activity in healthy

Echinacea and Golden Seal: nature's potent immune system booster
As well as its blood purifying
properties, echinacea is an effective antibacterial, antiviral and immune system stimulant or infection fighter. For more
than 100 years it has proven useful in most diseases due to impurities of the blood. It is excellent for treating the causes
of fever, infection, colds and flu and is specific for all glandular infections. Echinacea (pronounced eek-in-asia) is a plant
which was first used by Native American Indians to cure snake bites, colds, flu and other fever-related illnesses. Today echinacea
is commercially cultivated and is the most popular herb in the world. In Europe, echinacea is used in many cases instead of
antibiotics. Golden Seal is claimed by many to be the world's oldest medicinal plant. It is said to promote white blood cell
activity, which is an important part of your body's natural defense system.
Optimal Breathing for a Healthy Immune System
Oxygen depletion weakens our immune system, which leads
to viral infections, damaged cells, growths, inflamed joins, serious heart and circulatory problems, toxic buildup in blood
and premature aging. Low oxygen allows damaged cells to multiply and form growths in our bodies because our cells are oxygen
deficient. If the cells in our bodies are rich in oxygen, mutated cells are less able to reproduce. Oxygen shortage
in the human body has been linked to every major illness category including heart conditions, cancer, digestion and elimination
problems, respiratory disease, inflamed, swollen and aching joints, sinus problems, yeast infections and even sexual dysfunction.
Fresh live foods and rain water contain oxygen. Cooked foods and stagnant water has much less oxygen. Oxygen is our primary
source of energy. It displaces harmful free radicals, neutralizes environmental toxins and destroys anaerobic (the inability
to live in oxygen rich environments) infectious bacteria, parasites, microbes and viruses.
Raw Food/Enzyme Therapy to Restore the Immune System
Most human illnesses and diseases are due to
a deficiency of vital nutrients. When you supply your body with the proper nutrients, in a form that your body can use, it
knows how to repair itself. "The body has the inherent ability -the vitality -not only to heal itself and restore health,
but also to ward off disease. Illness is not caused simply by an invasion of external agents or germs, but is a manifestation
of the organism's attempt to defend and heal itself. Prevention Is the Best Cure. Health is a reflection of how we choose
to live." TC Fry
Fresh, raw foods contain the highest level of enzymes. Enzymes are the catalyst for the hundreds
of thousands of chemical reactions that occur throughout the body. Enzymes are needed to run all body systems. Metabolic enzymes
are used by the heart, lungs, kidneys, immune system, and for brain functions. Disease proliferate only where there is not
enough oxygen for cells to be healthy. Raw foods contain an abundance of enzymes and oxygen. In cooked foods, enzymes and
oxygen are destroyed. The fastest way to restore wellness is to stop putting into the body the things that have caused the
physical problem to develop in the first place, and then give the body the nutrients it needs to repair and rebuild itself.
The body is self-healing when the infraction is stopped and proper nutrients provided. Rev. George Malkmus
Immune-strengthening effects of bee pollen
A report from the Agronomic Institute, Faculty of
Zootechnics, Romania, showed the immune-strengthening effects of bee pollen. According to the report, "Comparative Studies
Concerning Biochemical Characteristics of Beebread as Related to the Pollen Preserved in Honey" by Drs. E. Palos, Z.
Voiculescu, and C. Andrei, "An increase has been recorded in the level of blood lymphocytes, gamma globulins, and proteins
in those subjects given pollen in comparison with control groups. The most significant difference occurred in lymphocytes.
These results thus signify a strengthening in the resistance of the organic system." Lymphocytes are the white blood
cells that are the "soldiers" of the immune system. They are responsible for ridding the body of injurious and harmful
substances, including infected or diseased cells, mutant and cancerous cells, viruses, metabolic trash, and so on. Gamma globulin
is a protein formed in the blood, and our ability to resist infection is closely related to this protein's activity.
Ginseng is one of the most powerful healing plants in the world! by Linda Page,
N.D. Ph.D.
It’s been around for thousands of years. Every traditional healing culture in the world has a ginseng
or ginseng-type plant in it’s medicine chest. Daily ginseng was a necessary matter of life throughout all of China’s
long history. At the turn of the 20th century, virtually every Chinese person used ginseng to some extent for their well being,
especially as a wellness tonic. Ginseng was also highly esteemed by every Native American culture.
At the Institute
of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Jilin Province (where ginseng is grown), researchers in the pharmacology department evaluated
the effects of ginseng on immune responses. The immune responses of mice were tested with different dosages of extracts obtained
either from the leaf or the root of ginseng. Significant changes in the response of the reticuloendothelial (RES) system were
found, especially with moderate doses of the root extracts. Larger doses did not improve the response. RES cells are the immune
system components that devour foreign organisms without leaving their original sites in the liver, spleen and other tissues
of the body.
Ginseng - the most extensively studied herb on earth! Dr. Lin Yutang, a Chinese research scientist who
spent a lifetime learning about ginseng, summed up his work by saying that "The magic tonic and building qualities of
ginseng are the most enduring, the most energy-giving, restorative qualities known to mankind, yet it is distinguished by
the slowness and gentleness of its action". More modern research has been done on ginseng than all other herbs combined.
At the turn of the 21st century ginseng is being intensively studied by athletic performance experts as well as medical science.
According to the British Journal of Biomedical Science, allicin is considered to be the most potent antibacterial agent in
crushed garlic extracts. Garlic has been used since the days of the Egyptians to treat wounds, infections, tumors, and intestinal
parasites. Several animal studies published between 1995 and 2005 indicate that allicin may reduce
atherosclerosis and fat deposition, normalize the lipoprotein balance, decrease blood pressure, have anti-thrombotic and anti-inflammatory
activities, and function as an antioxidant. Garlic has been widely reported to protect against cardiovascular disease by reducing
serum cholesterol concentrations and blood pressure and by inhibiting platelet aggregation. Garlic detoxifies chemical
carcinogens and prevent carcinogenesis and can also directly inhibit the growth of cancer cells. Allicin, the heart of garlic,
stimulates immunity, including macrophage activity, natural killer and killer cells, and LAK cells, and to increase the production
of IL-2, TNF, and interferon-gamma
The Prebiotics and Probiotics for a Healthy Immune System
Probiotics and Prebiotics are the
beneficial bacteria that are normally present in the digestive tract. These bacteria are required for proper digestion, the
synthesis of Vitamin K, and the prevention of yeast infections and pathogen growth. Studies have shown that the continual
use of antibiotics has a devastating affect on the immune system. Each time you use an antibiotic, the immune system
gets further and further suppressed. Antibiotic kill friendly helpful microflora bacteria in a body, not just the pathogenic
bacteria. A healthy intestinal tract with a balanced microflora can boost the immune system, keep pathogenic diseases of the
intestinal tract in check. Probiotic use creates an intestinal environment that can improve a user's immune system. The intestines are the body's
largest immune organ. It's a fairly hostile environment and a well balanced system can relieve immunological stress associated
with an unhealthful system. This gives the immune system a chance to enhance its capabilities in other parts of the body.
In a healthy body, your inner ecosystem contains enough good bacteria (microflora or probiotics) to outnumber the bad and
help maintain control over them. Probiotics may be a buzzword in the health and wellness industry, but you need to consume
plenty of prebiotics, to ensure you have enough probiotics populating your gut.
Charles Smith D.O.
OBGYN – Surgeon - "During the past five years I have seen positive results with a probiotic –
prebiotic complex for the treatment of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBDs) of Ulcerative colitis and Crohn's. Other positive
results were observed during the treatment of Diverticulosis and Diverticulitis. Relief from various food allergies and Acid
Reflux are continually realized, while eliminating both constipation and diarrhea associated with generalized gastric upset.
We also observe a natural mechanism to effectively address vaginal yeast infections. The product we have seen these results
with is called Prescript-Assist. The initial positive results were so remarkable that I encouraged the company to allow
for a double-blinded, placebo controlled clinical trial to support our initial findings. Subsequently, I was one
of three physician ‘co-investigators’ to a recently published clinical study for Prescript-Assist’s effectiveness
to treat Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)."
The Role of Intestines in Immunology
The danger model: a renewed sense of self" is a landmark
article published in the J. Science 2002;296:301. It reminds us of the work of Dr. Metnikoff, who won the Nobel Prize in medicine
in 1908 by demonstrating the ancient principle that most of our immune system is in the intestines. This concept is being
resurrected by mainstream researchers. ("Mucosal Immuniry:its role in defense and allergy," J. International Archives
of Allergy and Immunology 2002;128:77.) Marine phytoplankton works as a super-food, its salutary work begins in the intestines,
by healing the lining cell membranes of our intestines, and by improving the quality of food our friendly organisms need to
thrive on. They, too, are an integral part of our immune system. In fact, the liver is also part of the immune system. As
we have already discussed, healing these organs leads to an improvement of practically all medical conditions. Most of this
improvement is through the healing of our immune systems in the intestines.
The intestinal lining becomes porous when it is inflamed, oxidized, toxic, and lacking in energy. 'This is called "leaky
gut." This allows for "translocation" of toxins and noxious organisms from the intestines to the rest of our
body. One of the many problems that result is a priming of the "systemic immune system" to attack molecules and
tissues it should not be attacking. This means that the immune system you are more familiar with (white cells, antibodies,
immunoglobulins, etc.) is overwhelmed, and confused. This is the main reason why we develop "autoimmune" problems,
such as arthritis, lupus, thyroiditis, etc.
The immune system in the intestines and in the rest of the body are composed
of "glycoproteins." This means that its components are proteins that need the correct sugars to attach to them in
order to be structured, and function the correct way. This is one of the reasons why refined sugars depress our immune system.
One can of Coke impairs white cell function by more than half, for over three hours. Marine phytoplankton provides the right
sugars, thus healing these glycoproteins to improve their ability to fight noxious organisms, and toxins. "Immunotoxicology"
is the science that tells us that toxins in the environment compromise our immune system. By improving our detoxification
pathways throughout our body, FrequenSea also improves the immune system.
"The intricate interface between immune
system and metabolism" (J. Trends in Immunology 2004;25:193.) reminds us of the concept of "Metabolomics."
By improving our cells' ability to produce energy, we also improve our immune system. After all, it also needs energy to function.
This also means that being obese and prediabetic compromises our immune system. By improving insulin resistance, Marine phytoplankton
improves the immune system.
High Cholesterol Protects Against Infection
Many studies have found that low cholesterol is
in certain respects worse than high cholesterol. For instance, in 19 large studies of more than 68,000 deaths, reviewed by
Professor David R. Jacobs and his co-workers from the Division of Epidemiology at the University of Minnesota, low cholesterol
predicted an increased risk of dying from gastrointestinal and respiratory diseases.
Most gastrointestinal and respiratory
diseases have an infectious origin. Therefore, a relevant question is whether it is the infection that lowers cholesterol
or the low cholesterol that predisposes to infection? To answer this question Professor Jacobs and his group, together with
Dr. Carlos Iribarren, followed more than 100,000 healthy individuals in the San Francisco area for fifteen years. At the end
of the study those who had low cholesterol at the start of the study had more often been admitted to the hospital because
of an infectious disease. This finding cannot be explained away with the argument that the infection had caused cholesterol
to go down, because how could low cholesterol, recorded when these people were without any evidence of infection, be caused
by a disease they had not yet encountered? Isn´t it more likely that low cholesterol in some way made them more vulnerable to infection, or that high cholesterol protected those who did not become infected? Much evidence
exists to support that interpretation.
The idea that too much animal fat and a high cholesterol is dangerous
to your heart and vessels is nothing but a myth. Cholesterol is not a deadly poison, but a substance vital to the cells of
all mammals. Researchers at the University San Diego School of Medicine UCSD point out that high cholesterol in those over
75 years of age is protective, rather than harmful and that low cholesterol is a risk factor for heart arrhythmias (leading
cause of death if heart attack occurs). Researchers from the University of Denmark report that about 15% of cholesterol lowering
drug users over the age of 50 will suffer from nerve damage as direct result of using statin drugs. USA Today reported that
Statins have killed and injured more people than the government has acknowledged.
Autoimmune disorders are not well understood and therefore difficult to treat. The
result is that there are millions of Americans who are suffering because they aren't being diagnosed properly, or getting
the correct medical treatment they need. The term "autoimmune disease" refers to a varied group of more than 80
serious, chronic illnesses that involve almost every human organ system. It includes diseases of the nervous, gastrointestinal,
and endocrine systems as well as skin and other connective tissues, eyes blood, and blood vessel. In all of these diseases,
the underlying problem is similar--the body's immune system becomes misdirected, attacking the very organs it was designed
to protect. The immune system is a scapegoat for a variety of ills in this wide-ranging but tendentious guide to approaching
diseases like lupus, Crohn's disease, MS, and rheumatoid arthritis.
According
to Shé D'Montford, Shambhallah, from Australia ‘The human body "WILL HEAL"... If we get out of our
own way and allow it, it heals itself. It is our basic nature. Anybody who tells you other than that is trying to sell you
something. No matter what you have been told. Don't give up on yourself and don't buy into the lines like ... ‘oh well
you've had a good life'... 'at your age'... and the worst of all ...'there's nothing further I can do, I suggest you finalize
your affairs'... How dare anyone tell you to give up! So much in society combines to convince us of the propaganda that some
things never get better. It's up to you ... do you want to get better? Make things better? It is human nature to make things
better, evolve and grow.”
