What is the
immune system? Where is the immune system?
In 1874, Dr. Andrew Still in Missouri proposed that
illness was caused by stagnation of vital bodily functions. He believed that when we stimulate the lymphatic and cardiovascular
systems and eliminate sluggishness, most illness will be eradicated. Just like stagnant water will cause destructive sedimentation
and corrosion to its container, stagnation and a sedentary lifestyle will cause organ degeneration. Proponents of orthodox
medicine pounced on him and his osteopathic colleagues and put them in jail for their convictions. How wrong were they? Today,
doctors of osteopathic medicines have become household names in American medicine.
The immune system's definition and location is discussed
in relation to two other organ systems namely- the digestive system and the cardiovascular system. While there
is a general understanding of the digestive system and the circulatory system, the immune system is one that "like
a fish in a net" surrounds all organs of the body. They collect cellular wastes of these organs for
purification. Like beads tied to a string they receive waste products for purification. The beads are the lymph nodes where
purification takes place while the strings represent the lymphatic system.Without this system ,we will not
be alive
Because we all have weak spots[organs] that are more susceptible to disease manifestation when
under mental, emotional, physical, dietary or environmental stressors,we need to spend time to understand the stressors, the
organs and the disease.By doing this,we may not completely cure the illness but we can effectively manage it and bring everything
under homeostatic balance or control. This is what the concept of normal health is all about.
A thorough understanding
of the immune system will be effective in arresting, if not reversing virtually all chronic diseases, provided that cellular
integrity and organic structure have not been irreversibly compromised. When cellular integrity and organic structures have
been compromised, complete reversal and recovery may not be possible; but arrest of the disease process and higher levels
of health can in most cases be achieved as long as one restructure their thinking processes to overcome self-sabotage and
to achieve amazing successes
We aim to focus on the correction of disease through a process referred to as "Orthopathy."
"Ortho" means "upright, correct." "Pathology" means the "study of disease" or "the
study of suffering." "Disease is right action or right suffering," says Dr. Jennings, the greatest pathologist
of the 19th century. We emphasize, etiologies, and very effective, Natural and Hygienic healing formulas for disease as presented
by Dr. Herbert M. Shelton.
The roots of naturopathic medicine go back thousands of years to the Chinese, Greek, Indian, and
European healing traditions. As a distinct American healthcare profession, naturopathic medicine is over 100 years old, tracing
its origins to Dr. Benedict Lust. Dr. Lust came to the U.S. in 1896 from Germany to teach the natural healing methods practiced
in Europe, and formed the first U.S. naturopathic medical school in 1898.
Without doing anything thing else but merely practicing detoxification,
and elimination of waste,we make the lymph fluids flow freely in the lymphatic system. This itself can start the process of
immune system restoration. These processes includes, exercise on the mini trampoline, detox bath,deep-deep breathing, far
infra red sauna, the chi machine, dry skin brushing, liver gall bladder flush and enemas
The profession of naturopathic medicine is unique because it’s philosophy. We differ from
conventional medical doctors in that our practice us guided by the following principles:
Use the Healing Power of Nature
The body has the ability to maintain and restore health. Healing
occurs as a result of the revival of our “vital force” - qi, prana, spirit.
Treat
the Cause
The simplest and wisest practice of medicine is to treat and remove the cause of illness rather than
merely suppressing the symptoms.
First, Do No Harm
Naturopathic doctors prefer
natural therapies that are less invasive and thus synergistic with the body’s healing process.
Doctor
as Teacher
Naturopathic doctors educate their patients and encourage self-responsibility to achieve a state
of good health.
Treat the Whole Person
Naturopathic doctors explore physical,
mental, emotional, environmental, genetic and spiritual factors when treating a patient.
Emphasize
Preventive Medicine
Naturopathic doctors strive to identify the factors that make one susceptible to illness
and work toward preventing that illness.
At some point in
our life, we all come up with genetic and/or Acquired Immunity Deficiency Syndromes of signs and symptoms. At that point we
are said to be a “Human Immunodeficient entity”. This illness is not because of who we had sex with but it is
a low vulnerable point when our immunity is down and exposure to microbes become infective. We may acquire the flu, ear infection,
swollen lymph nodes, diarrhea or a wide variety of Sexually transmitted diseases. Also when the immune system is deficient
we come up with degenerative diseases like hypertension, cancers, diabetes, arthrithis, skin diseases etc. See moore on the AIDS Hoax

The primary author is over 102 years old and shares from his vast experience both as a medical missionary, college physician,
and centurion. Dr. McMillan shares a unique perspective on healthy living and how the Bible gave insight into sources of infectious
disease to generations of people starting with Moses until present day. The present edition has been updated by his physician
grandson and includes new facts and findings in medical science confirming what the Bible said over 3000 years agao. It takes
a fascinating look at how medical science is coming to many of the same conclusions about healthy living that God revealed
to his people in biblical times. Many people over the past years have made positive comments about this book (w/previous
editions)that provided them with vital information on issues that face the current generation, including AIDS, STDs, stress,
infectious disease prevention, and handwashing that they had trouble understanding from their standard textbook. It is written
at a level that a layperson can understand, yet has deep insight into disease prevention techniques. Read this book
The
philosophy of naturopathic medicine is based upon three basic principles:
Principle #1:
The body possesses the power to heal itself through its internal vitality and intelligence. This vital force is the
foundation of naturopathic philosophy and the naturopathic practitioner strives to create the most favorable conditions to
stimulate and enhance this healing power of nature.
Principle #2:
Disease is a manifestation of the vital force applying
itself to the removal of obstructions to the normal functioning of organs and tissues. The naturopathic practitioner always
seeks to discover and remove the basic causes of disease whether:
Chemical; i.e. an imbalance in the chemistry of the body fluids due to dietary deficiency
or dietary excess, retention of waste products due to inefficient functioning of the lungs, kidneys and bowels, or poor circulation
of body fluids;
Mechanical; i.e. muscular tensions, strained ligaments, stiff joints,
poor posture due to occupational factors, as well as spinal misalignments, leading to an interference in the functioning of
the nervous system and the musculoskeletal system generally;
Psychological;
i.e. impaired function induced by stress, which may be due to worries and upsets in personal and domestic life and/or anxieties
and pressures at work.
Principle #3:
Naturopathic medicine is a holistic approach to health.
In other words, disease affects the whole person - body, mind and spirit, and not simply an isolated organ or system. Each
person responds in unique ways to their environment, each has individual strengths, weaknesses and needs. Their body's reactions
to the same stress may be very different depending on their level of health, inherited tendencies, previous medical history,
etc. The naturopathic practitioner searches for causes at many levels, and attempts to eliminate the fundamental cause of
illness, not simply to remove symptoms.

More commonly known as reishi, ganoderma is a hard, bitter mushroom used to promote health and longevity in traditional
Chinese medicine. Proponents claim that ganoderma can relieve fatigue, keep cholesterol in check,
curb high blood pressure, tame inflammation, build stamina, and support the immune
system. An increasingly popular natural remedy, ganoderma is only used as a medicinal mushroom and isn't recommended
for cooking.Ganoderma shows promise in reducing cholesterol levels and easing allergy-related inflammation
of the airways, according to preliminary evidence from animal-based studies. Here's a look at more of the science behind ganoderma's
health-enhancing effects.Often used as an immune stimulant by people with cancer (as well as HIV), ganoderma has been shown
to strengthen immunity as well as combat cancer-cell proliferation. In a 2003 study of 34 people with advanced-stage cancer,
for instance, taking ganoderma in supplement form three times daily for 12 weeks led to a significant increase in T-cells
(known to play a central role in immune defense).Lab tests on breast cancer cells, meanwhile, found that combining extracts
of ganoderma and green tea heightened the mushroom's ability to slow cancer-cell growth.Moore
Definition of Naturopathy
Naturopathic medicine is a distinct system of healing
- a philosophy, science, art and practice - which seeks to promote health by stimulating and supporting the body's inherent
power to regain harmony and balance. Although the term naturopathy was first used at the turn of the century, the philosophical
basis and many of the methods of naturopathic medicine are ancient, some dating back at least to 400B.C, when Hippocrates
became famous for his treatment of disease in accordance with natural laws. In fact, although Hippocrates is called the Father
of Medicine, modern medical science typically ignores the self-evident laws of health laid down by him, which state:
Only nature heals, providing it is given the opportunity
to do so.
Let food
be your medicine and let medicine be your food.
Disease is an expression of purification.
All disease is one.
Illness does not occur without cause. Causes may originate in many areas. Underlying
causes of illness organism to defend and heal itself against infection and/or stress. Hans Selye, MD, PhD, the father of stress
theory, once asserted, "Disease is not mere surrender to attack but also the fight for health; unless there is a fight,
there is no disease."
Our human body has survived these thousands
of years because of its incredible adaptive capabilities, and one of the ways that it adapts is through the creation of symptoms.
Whether it be through fever and inflammation, cough and expectoration, nausea and vomiting, fainting and comatose states,
and even the variety of emotional and mental states, each symptom represents the best efforts of the bodymind in its effort
to fight infection and/or adapt to physical and psychological stresses.
and
disease must be identified and removed before complete recovery can occur. Symptoms can be expressions of the body's attempt
to defend itself, to adapt and recover, to heal itself, or may be results of the causes of disease. The basic assumption behind the broad field of natural medicine is that the human
body has an inherent wisdom within it that strives to defend itself and to survive. Symptoms of illness are not simply something
"wrong" with the person, but instead, symptoms are actually responses and efforts of the

Typing or categorizing people in various ways is an ancient science. Its purpose is to simplify diagnosis and correction
of health. Ancient physicians noticed that people fall into certain categories and those within such categories often
have similar health problems and often need similar remedies or therapies. This gave birth to the idea of typing people
in order to quickly assess what is wrong with them and what they require for healing.Read Moore
In all the medical jargons you have read about the immune system,
it is important to realize that the immune system is the lymphatic system’s compartment. The immune system is
a system nature put into place to shield humans from extreme conditions and imbalances in the environment. The activities
of the immune system are fully integrated with the lymphatic system. White blood cells reside in the lymphatic system, and
when we optimize the activities of the lymphatic system with efficient management of the cellular wastes it collects, we are
said to have an efficient immune system. It works efficiently when there is physiological continuity of its performance with
other systems in the body. It receives metabolic wastes, and filters and neutralizes harmful agents and microbes before returning
them to systemic circulation. Individuals who have properly-functioning lymphatic systems have good immune systems, and those
who have sluggish lymphatic systems have weak immune systems which are predisposed to cancer and organ degenerations. The
immune system is said to be weak when we are unable to eliminate cellular metabolic wastes and neutralize pathogens. Immune
system activities take place in the lymphatic system.
The immune system evolved
because we have lived side by side with microbes and external environments that can often times threaten our existence. Our
technological advances accelerate much faster than the human body can catch up with them. Our cellular metabolism is not designed
to handle our current diet, lifestyles, and environmental pressures. As we begin to incorporate botanicals into our daily
menu, we aid the immune system in doing its work with the different components of our bodily systems.
The
ancients believe that the human body is like an irrigation system that is traversed by three great rivers that cleanse and
maintains the body’s systems. These are the white river or the lymphatic system, the red river or the cardiovascular
system, and the brown river or the digestive system. The overall health of an individual and freedom from chronic degenerative
disease is contingent on the integrity of these rivers. As we journey to explore these forgotten rivers of health, reversal
of all chronic degenerations becomes inevitable. We observe how pets stretch their bodies after waking up. Animals are constantly
on the move in their habitats, and fishes are constantly mobile in their water environment. It is only flowing streams that
native peoples use for domestic activities. When the body stretches, muscles are contracted. The weakening of the body is
not due not to the effects of illness, but to the neglect of its metabolism resulting from the accumulation of toxins from
stagnation. Removal of toxins from cells and intercellular spaces is a process requiring constant stimulation of cells by
nerve impulses, which occurs during exercise or movement, which causes contractions of muscles. When people do not exercise
or move efficiently, such as is done in stretching, aerobics, running, walking, and dancing, their bodies gradually decline
and degenerate.
Dr. Reckeweg, M.D., the father of homotoxicology
According to Dr. Reckeweg, M.D., the father of homotoxicology, “As long
as the body eliminates toxic wastes, the body maintains health, even if health is at an extreme illness level.”
This emphasizes the significance of re-establishing the flow of interstitial fluid within the organs’ intercellular
structure to sustain health. This proves that the endothelial gap’s malfunction is the culprit the development of “disease”
states. When mechanical dysfunction is rectified, treatment is one step closer to advancing toward success in disease management.”
He points out that when the lymph system malfunctions, excess toxins and large proteins accumulate within the intercellular
spaces, causing inflammation. When the fluid pressure in the intercellular space is high (too much fluid), the endothelial
gaps are impaired in their function. Our metabolic waste products include diacetic, lactic, pyruvic, uric, carbonic, acetic,
butyric, and hepatic acids. The staging, type, or location of classification of your disease is irrelevant to its cause and
cure as long as we remove impediments to cure.
If toxic wastes are not removed by the lymphatic system, they cause organ
degeneration of the weakest or the most venerable body parts and death. Intercellular fluid accumulates on the outside of
the endothelial gap, and inflammation and degeneration occurs. In diseased conditions, the intercellular spaces between cells
are wet and flooded with proteinous cellular wastes, like a blockage and backup in the home plumbing system. This process
is similar to what happens in a swimming pool during a heavy rainstorm. When too much water is trying to get through the flap
covering the drain on the side of the pool, the flap closes and water cannot drain from the pool. The water level rises, reaches
the brim, and spills out, carrying debris into the surrounding area. When the endothelial gap is processing, fluid in the
intercellular space maintains the cells “dry state” level, and intercellular space is free of toxins and disease.
The theme of this book is to educate you on how to activate the lymphatic – immune system and reverse your chronic degenerative
diseases.
Our body produces various kinds of wastes like the
solid wastes[feces] that passes out trough the anus, nitrogenous wastes that passes out through the kidneys and the
cellular wastes which the lymphatic system collect and recycle back into the blood. The lymphatic system is like a net that
surround all the organs of the body collecting wastes for recycling.Botanical herbal supplements are critical to healing.By making blood tonics with herbs like licorice, turmeric, burdock, dandelion, yellow duck, oregon grape root, ,bayberry buckhorn,
echinacea and cleavers,we can pretty well cover many grounds as regards optimizing immune functions.Detoxification is key to healing.
Does it surprise you that after more than ten years of medical
education, orthodox doctors do not have a clue about the location, function and used of the immune system as 'the remedy"
for all diseases?. This is because medicine is "drug based" and remedies that restore your immune function to fight
diseases are "a treat" to the health care budget. Can you imagine if all the teaching hospitals and medical
schools loose majority of their regular patients[including you] because you can use your knowledge of the
immune system to manage otherwise chronic diseases?
Over the last five years, there has been an explosion of bestselling acid/alkaline based diets. These have ranged from weight
loss to diabetes management. While hundreds of thousands of people have gone on this diet that balances the pH level of your
body, they have had to put up with the limited food guides contained in each book. Now, health experts Dr. Susan Brown and
Larry Trivieri have created a complete resource for people wanting to widen their food choices. The Acid/Alkaline Food Guide
offers dieters an easy-to-follow guide to the most common foods that influence your body’s pH levels. The book begins
by explaining what the acid/alkaline of your body has to do with the acid/alkaline influence of foods. It then explains how
the pH of foods, once eaten, may change in your body—as citric acid fruits, once digested, become alkaline. As complicated
as this process is, the authors provide the guidelines for the analysis of the foods covered in the book. This section is
then followed by a listing of thousands of foods and their acid/alkaline ranges. Included are insets and groups that can help
the reader better direct their food searches.Read moore

Dr. Alfred Pischinger and the regulation of the extracellular matrix
Dr.
Alfred Pischinger was the first scientist to develop a theory for complementary or holistic medicine based on the regulation
of the extracellular matrix (ground regulation). He was born in Linz, Austria in 1899 and died in 1983 in Graz. In his book
Dr Pischinger stated that believed that the extracellular space is responsible for all of the basic vital functions: providing
nutrition, waste removal, acid – alkaline balance, and cell communication, as well as aiding in inflammatory and immune
processes. Long overlooked, the proper regulation of the extracellular space is the key to successfully treating all infections,
cancer, diabetes, and other chronic degenerative diseases. While orthodox medicine relies mainly on the cells and their biochemistry,
often overlooked are the extracellular fluids or matrix in which cells are embedded as being pivotal to health. This “matrix”
or ground regulation system, as Dr. Pischinger called it, supports, nurtures, and detoxifies all cells and tissues by supplying
them with critically-needed nutrients such as oxygen, hormone messengers, and by removing cellular waste products, toxins,
and other residues so that health can be restored and immunity enhanced.
In this day and age, it is easy to become over-burdened
with toxins and metabolic wastes—and it is not always our fault. Every year, hundreds of thousands of new chemicals
are released on the market, many not fully tested for their effects on the human body. Different toxins, such as chemicals,
heavy metals, viruses, bacterial residues, indoor pollutants, diet, metabolic wastes, antibiotics, and other drugs remains
are stored in the extracellular space where they cause stagnation and harm to the cells. Given enough time, these toxins exceed
the storage capacity of the ECM and impair the ability of the body to regulate and regenerate, causing rapid non-specific
symptoms to emerge, e.g. fatigue, headache, muscular pain, mood swings, and allergies. Our immune – lymphatic system
shuts down. It can no longer compensate for the toxic overload within us, and it leaves us a sitting duck for all kinds of
viruses, bacteria, chronic degenerative diseases, and other microbes to move in. The viscous cycle continues as your now-toxic
body is actually turned into a playground for these unwanted guests that are having the time of their life at our expense.
Lymphology and the immune system The American Association of Lymphology
indicates that laboratory research and studies on the cause and cure of all diseases were done between 1930 and 1963 at the
Harvard, Tulane, and the University of Mississippi medical schools by Doctors Cecil H Drinker, H. S Myerson, and Arthur C.
Guyton, but were suppressed by special interest groups. They believe that every healing art involves the movement of
oxygen into the cells, while all illness, including cancer, involves the movement of oxygen away from the cells. According
to Dr. C. Samuel West, blood proteins and water must be removed from the spaces between the cells, referred to as intercellular
space, by the lymphatic vessels to keep the cells in what is called the "healthy dry state." In this situation,
the cells effectively burn complex carbohydrates to produce carbon dioxide, water, and energy. If this does not happen,
the blood proteins and water around the cells will alter the “dry state” to the “diseased wet state."
This produces a lack of oxygen and loss of energy at the cell level, which is the cause of all diseases that afflict humanity.
If there is insufficient oxygen at the cellular level, the metabolism will be incomplete, and carbon dioxide and lactic acid
will be produced. Carbon dioxide displaces oxygen from the hemoglobin and prevents the red blood cells from getting
the needed oxygen for cellular functions.
As we aim to restore immune
function,we emphasize Naturorthopathic, which is distinct from Naturopathic, as “a principled,
doctrinal belief system in the restoration and preservation of health by natural, unadulterated means and conditions such
as the following: pure water, sunshine, exercise, clean air, cleanliness, proper diet, sleep, rest, correct temperatures,
relaxation, poise, and a good mental and spiritual attitude”. We support medical intervention in a crisis to save a
life, such as to revive a stopped heart, to perform surgery when a birth canal is not large enough, to remove diseased or
defective tissues that are life-threatening, to use medication to relieve unbearable pain, and/or to employ other life-saving
procedures not in the aforementioned. We aim for you to “Conserve Your Reserves”
How does a weak
immune system cause disease?
A weak immune system is one that cannot eliminate wastes from cells or cellular-metabolic
wastes. Its like sleeping on top of your feces and urine. The retained wastes cause organ degeneration and microbial
proliferation[viruses, bacteria, parasites etc]. Illness finally manifest on the weakest organ. If it is in the pancreas ,we
have pancreatic cancer or diabetes, skin diseases, allergies in the liver,we get liver diseases etc.Practically
all diseases that plague humanity are caused by faulty lymphatic - immune system. By learning to manage lymphatic
wastes,we optimize our immune system

What happens as stagnation continues
Organs near the stagnation point are
awash in their own wastes, cannot take in nutrients, and cannot eliminate wastes. Studies show that excess blood proteins
and water leave the blood stream under conditions of shock, stress, toxicity, malnutrition or injury. Healing occurs when
we pull out all of the dead cells, poisons, excess blood proteins, and water from around the cells to keep them in what is
called the “dry state” so they can get the oxygen they need. The diseased “wet state”
constitutes a shift from oxidation to fermentation. In this condition, the rate of production of diseased cells outweighs
their rate of destruction. Oxygen oxidizes or mop up toxic waste build up. Its deficiency is the culprit in all diseases;
it creates a state of cellular confusion or drowning. It occurs when the human body’s oxygen availability, demand, and
utilization drops lower than normal due to exposure to conditions that stems from malnutrition, environmental pollution, physical
inactivity, stress, and westernization of ancestral life. These conditions suffocate our cells because the supply of oxygen
falls short of our demand; metabolism is faulty, immunity is lowered, and the cells shift from using oxygen (an aerobic process)
for metabolism to predominately using sugar (an anaerobic process). Herein lies the etiology of all diseases.
We are
all a step away from disease. If you are dealing with chronic degenerative diseases, total eradication of symptoms is not
the ultimate goal. Effective management and repair of the metabolic pathways with nutrition and lifestyles changes are a lifetime
commitment with the aim of being a step ahead of the game.
A general understanding of the lymphatic system will buttress
the need for lymphatic massage, deep breathing, and physical exercise for detoxification. It plays a crucial role in the body’s
ability to ward off illnesses and recover from diseases. The lymphatic system is twice the size of the circulatory system.
Like the cardiovascular system, movement is key to its optimal function, and sluggishness leads to their failure. Like
a house with two plumbing systems, one different from the other in having a one-way valve filtration system and the other
having a central pump, the lymphatic system runs parallel to the vascular system. While the cardiovascular system supplies
blood and nutrients to the tissues, the lymphatic system runs side by side with the vascular system to collect the leftover
intracellular wastes for purification, filtration, and recycling. Nature put this in place to offset the danger of tissue
wastes hanging around the body. It is often referred to as the body’s sewage-disposal system.
UNDERSTANDING
THE IMMUNE SYSTEM: THE KEY TO HEALING LIVER DISEASE A good understanding of the immune system and use of aggressive
natural remedies can replace all of the damaged liver cells within an eighteen-month period, since the life span of each liver
cell is about eighteen months.
The body’s immune defense has more influence in determining the progression of chronic hepatitis to cirrhosis
than remedies and drugs that exclusively address the viral loads. The immune system can be modulated in cases of individual
illnesses, which helps in understanding the root of immune deficiencies and points to potential avenues that. The immune system
has many weapons in its responses against viral assault on our body. The immune systems use specialized proteins build
from amino acids that are derived from food. The two main fluid systems in the body are the blood and the lymph. Immune enhancement
is the foundation upon which all alternative remedies are built; the immune system is basically the lymphatic system, and
its various components that include the white blood cells and the lymph nodes.
All blood cells are manufactured by
stem cells, which reside mainly in the bone marrow via a process called hematopoiesis. The stem cells produce hemocytoblasts
that differentiate into the precursors for all different types of blood cells namely, erythrocytes (red blood cells), thrombocytes
(platelets), and leucocytes (white blood cells).
Dr Paul Yanick, author of “The Forgotten River
Of Health” was born with systemic lymphatic disease that caused him to go deaf and loose kidney function in his late
teens. With a progressive adrenal disease in their hand, his parents sought the services of every renowned specialist in conventional
medicine and were surprised about medical ignorance about the correlation of lymphatic system with degenerative and infective
diseases. He was given a year to live and sent home to die. He proved his doctors wrong!
The leucocytes (white blood cells) are further subdivided into the granulocytes and the agranulocytes (no granules). The
granulocytes are white blood cells that contain granules filled with potent chemicals that allow them to destroy the enemy.
They contain the neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophiles. Neutrophils are one type of phagocyte. It uses its pre-packaged
chemicals to ingest microbes. Eosinophils and basophiles de-regranulate by spraying into microbes. Eosinophiles congregate
at the sites of allergic and parasitic reactions. They release enzymes to relieve the biochemical causes of allergic attacks.
The agranulocytes are the lymphocytes (B-cells and T-cells), and the monocytes. The lymphocytes circulate in the blood
and in the lymph system, and make their home in the lymphoid organs. The primary lymphoid organs are the bone marrow and the
thymus gland, which is located behind the breast bone above the heart. The secondary lymphoid organs are located at or near
any possible port of entry of pathogens. They are found in the adenoids, tonsils, spleen (at upper left of the abdomen), lymph
nodes (that dot the lymphatic vessels in the neck, armpits, abdomen, and groin), Peyer’s patch within the intestines,
and in the appendix. Although not considered a lymphatic organ, the liver produces the majority of the body’s lymph.
Both the T-cells and B-cells originate in the bone marrow. When the T-cells mature, they are instructed in their duties
in the thymus gland. The T stands for thymus. The B cells mature in the bone marrow; the B stands for bone marrow.
The
size of the thymus gland diminishes with age and this necessitates the need for thymus extract in the treatment of immune
deficiency diseases. Approximately, one sixth of the entire body consists of the space between cells called the interstitium.
The fluid within this space is called the interstitial fluid. This fluid flows into the lymphatic vessels and becomes the
lymph. The lymph vessels, like veins, have one-way valves that prevent back flow. Along these vessels are small bean-shaped
lymph nodes that serve as filters of the lymphatic vessels.
TYPES
OF IMMUNITY Humans have three types of immunity against diseases, namely, innate, adaptive, and passive. • Innate
immunity is what we are born with, and it is non-specific. This is our first line of defense in preventing diseases. All antigens
are attacked pretty much equally. It is genetically based, and we pass it on to our offering. Innate immunity also includes
the external barriers of the body, like the skin and mucous membranes that line the nose, throat, and the gastrointestinal
tract. • Adaptive immunity involves the lymphocytes, and develops as children and adults are exposed to diseases
or immunized against diseases through vaccination.
Passive
immunity is borrowed from another source, and last for a short time e.g. antibodies in mother’s milk.
The immune system is characterized by the following.
• Antigen-specific It recognizes and acts against particular antigens. A foreign substance that invades the
body and elicits an immune response is called an antigen.
• Systemic It is not confined to the initial site but works throughout the body.
• Memory It recognizes and mounts an even stronger attack to the same antigen next time
Disorders
of the immune system can be broken down into four main categories: • immunodeficiency disorders (primary
or acquired),e.g. the AIDS epidemic • autoimmune disorders (the body’s own immune system turns on itself
as foreign matter), e.g. lupus, scleroderma, autoimmune hepatitis, and sarcoid
• Allergic disorders (immune system overreacts in response to a foreign matter referred to as an allergen),
e.g. asthma, eczema, and hay fever.
• cancers of the immune systems, e.g. lymphoma and leukemia
Antibodies ambush antigens in the body
fluids. The job of attacking the antigens is left to the other components of the immune system, mainly the lymphocytes, via
two main systems, cell-mediated and humoral. The cell-mediated or Th1 system refers to immune mechanisms not controlled or
mediated by antibodies. This involves white blood cells called the T cells (thymus dependent) and other specialized immune
cells. They are non-specific primary agents of the immune systems. They also patrol the blood and the lymph. T cells
contribute to the immune system in two major ways: They direct and regulate the immune response. Others kill infected or cancerous
human cells. The humoral (Th2) or antibody-mediated systems depend on the B cells (bone-marrow dependent). This is called
humoral immunity because the antibodies circulate in the blood and the lymph, which the ancient Greeks called the body’s
“humors.” They are specific or secondary immune systems that originate in the bone marrow. They do not depend
on the thymus gland.
Lymph Drainage
Therapy (LDT) is a gentle, light-touch, noninvasive technique that offers qualified therapists a natural complement to their
existing health care protocols. Within the context of breast care, LDT can help alleviate numerous conditions related to pregnancy,
including engorgement, sore nipples (transient, chronic), plugged ducts, wounds, fissures, ulcerations, bruises and dermatitis
(eczema). This therapy also can provide relief from chronic inflammation and pre- and post-surgical applications, and can
be used for cosmetic applications, such as mastoptosis, scars and traumas.
The Following can be used to optimize the immune
and lymphatic system
Far infra-red saunas generate molecular vibrations that accelerate metabolic exchanges between
cells, decreases pain by facilitating lymphatic and vascular circulation. Like using solvents to cut grease and facilitate
their removal with detergents, Infra red saunas help break protective rings around molecules in the body decreasing their
abilities to become carcinogenic. It makes bonds between toxins weak thus facilitating their easy eliminating through the
eliminative channels.Read Moore
WHAT HAPPENS AT
FIRST CONTACT WITH ANTIGENS OF FOREIGN BODIES THAT MAY ENDANGER US
Nature has equipped the human body with many
layers of protection against intruders or foreign bodies before they get in the blood stream and activate the immune system.
These include the skin and the mucus membranes that line the mouth, ear, private parts, nostrils, lungs, the eyes, and the
digestive tract. These membranes secrete antimicrobial agents that encounter microbes before they get into the blood stream.
It is the breakdown in one or all of these defenses that lead to encounters with the immune system. These encounters are first
picked up by the sensors nature puts in place to alarm the immune system, much like a home alarm system. When the immune system
encounters an intruder, its sensors triggers the alarm system that activates chemical messengers to attack the intruders—a
protective mechanism like the home-alarm monitoring company that calls the police to the encounter the intruder)
These responses occur in two phases—cellular and oxidative.
CELLULAR
RESPONSES
The cellular immune responses include the actions of chemical messengers called leukotrines and prostaglandins.
Prostaglandins open the blood vessels for white blood cells to flow in and initiate the healing process. They also send pain
messages to the brain by stimulating nerve endings. Leukotrines, like the Joint Chiefs of Staff in government, direct
the activities of white blood cells at the site of infection. They orchestrate increased migration of white blood cells. These
migratory patterns are responsible for the warmth, heat, pain, and redness experienced during inflammation.
Under the
direction of the leukotrines, kupffer cells, which are specialized liver cells, are the first to engage an invading pathogen.
Kupffer cells serve as first responders or body guards in the liver. They are responsible for monitoring the liver for
intruders . On contact with the intruders, they hold down them down, break it into fragments, and signal the regulators of
the immune system, the T-lymphocytes
After T-lymphocytes are signaled for help, T-helper cells bind to the kupffer cells
and lock onto antigens to form antigen-antibody complexes that interact with other subtypes of the T-cells to fight
the invading pathogen. Other T-helper cells rush to the spleen and the lymph nodes for more T-helper cells to maintain the
response while soliciting the immune system for other reinforcements.
The activated T-helper cells
again stimulate the production and multiplication of other specialized types of T-cells called the T-killer cells, which attack
the antigen at the site of infection and kill infected host cells. The T-killer cells kill the host cells, infected by
the pathogens, by puncturing their membranes and letting the antigen contents spill out, which hinders their usage for
microbial replication
The activated T-helper cells also stimulate the production of B-cells that reside in the spleen
which manufacture antibodies to destroy the invaders. Meanwhile, under the actions of the leukotrines, interferons are produced
which make the host cells, infected , self destruct—nature’s way of stopping the spread of infections.
In individuals whose immune or lymphatic
systems are sluggish due to malnutrition or stress, the immune cells fail to launch the above defenses and the invading pathogens
use the host’s genetic material to replicate themselves. In humans with healthy immune or lymphatic systems, the infection
manifests only the acute phase and is localized to a part of the body, manifesting as style, crypts, scarring, or carbuncles
after acute reactions to the invader. These responses deactivate the alarm and the war dwindles signifying recovery, Success!
As
the war dwindles, the T-helper cells again send out the suppressor T-cells, a third type of the T-cells, to slow down or stop
the activity of the B-cells and T-killer cells .They stop the attack of acute infections and encourage recovery. The memory
cells are produced by the first exposure to infective agents. They stay in the blood stream for years and give lifelong immunity
from subsequent infections and increase the response time to invasion by the same virus
Putting all the blame on the
virus and combating infections on microbes is like making an accessory to a crime the prime suspect. An aberrant
virus, fungus, or bacteria in the body can only survive in an acidic environment
Currently, the FDA has not approved
viral count as a diagnostic procedure; therefore it is only used for research purposes. The procedures for viral count
are highly variable depending on the specific lab which performs the test. Different labs at different times almost
always produce different results. Viral counts can change within a day or within a week. Efforts aimed at eliminating
the virus at the cost of the patient’s health are only short term. Along with these improvements is the deterioration
of life. While synthetic alpha interferon, Reberton et al. found that as anti-virals improve the lab markers and liver
function tests, patients become sicker and weaker and their quality of life deteriorated
It is the failure and breakdown of this process and the immune – lymphatic system that make invasions infective
and chronic
OXIDATIVE RESPONSES
The oxidative phase involves the movement
or leakage of fluids, antibodies, and blood plasma from the blood vessels to the surrounding tissues which ultimately leads
to swelling around the liver. The liver does not experience pain or discomfort. The swelling distends the surrounding tissues,
compressing, irritating, and stimulating their nerve endings and causing the pain experienced during inflammation. Normally,
this process is self-limiting and the individual may or may not experience minor symptoms of nausea, fever, vomiting, or mild
scarring.
When looking at the Lymphatic System, most chronic
problems occur at the junction of lymph vessels called “Lymph Nodes.” One can feel lymph nodes by pressing under
the jaw, below the ear, below the collarbone, under the arm, or in the crease between the thigh and pelvic area. When touching
these areas, many people will feel small bumps or lumps; some will feel pain. The bumps, lumps and pain are symptomatic of
blocked lymph nodes. Since we are dealing with
the primary drainage and immune support system of the body, it is important to see a practitioner and get help with seriously
swollen or hardened lymph nodes. Once the node is reduced to a less severe condition, or for maintenance and prevention self-administered
self care techniques can work very well. For
blocked lymph nodes, a light physical massage combined with use of the Lymphstar Pro facilitates relieving pain and restoring
lymph flow. With restored lymph flow the immune cells can enter and clear out pathogenic material and the body can recover
more quickly. Self-administered manual techniques include gentle “pumping” under the arm and through the leg crease
coupled with light massage and stroking of the skin in the direction of lymph flow, generally towards the heart. Another highly effective technique for cleansing the lymph
and promoting proper drainage is to practice daily dry skin brushing, best performed just before showering or bathing. The
brush used should be a long handled bath type brush. It should contain only natural vegetable bristles; synthetic bristles
should be avoided. The brush should be kept dry and not used for bathing. When one performs skin brushing the body should be dry and the brush should pass gently over the skin in
the direction of lymph flow, toward the heart. Use long, sweeping strokes, passing over every part of the body, except the
face. Use no back and forth or circular motions and no scrubbing. If the skin turns red you are doing it too hard. Exercise is essential to maintain proper flow of the lymphatic
system. The lymph system has no pump and the flow depends on respiration and muscle contraction. A combination of deep breathing
and stretching exercises is very beneficial to proper lymph flow. The perfect exercise for restoration
and maintenance of the lymphatic system is a rebounder or personal trampoline. When one does the lymphatic health bounce, the feet don’t
leave the mat. By gently surging up and down for 2-3 minutes at a time stress and tension are relieved and lymphatic flow
is enhanced. Utilization of the stabilizer bar allows everyone to sit or stand and “lymphacize” their entire system.
So, check your lymph
nodes; if they are sore your lymph is blocked and you have created a breeding ground for disease. If the soreness is moderate
use the self administered self care techniques.
Commonly Used Herbs
Herbs that possess lymphagogue action are among the most commonly used remedies in treating lymphatic
obstruction and improving your lymph drainage. In her book "Herbal Medicine From the Heart of the Earth," naturopathic
physician Sharol Tilgner reports that some of the most powerful lymphagogues include burdock, calendula, cleavers, flag, mullein,
poke root and red clover.
Herb in Focus
Poke root may be one of the most commonly used lymphagogues in treating your lymphatic obstruction and improving
your lymphatic drainage. According to Dr. William A. Mitchell Jr., a naturopathic physician, herbal medicine expert and author
of "Plant Medicine in Practice," poke root may be one of the most effective herbal remedies in treating lymphatic
stasis -- a condition in which your lymph drainage is sluggish and your lymph nodes are palpable. Mitchell suggests combining
poke root with dandelion, flag and lobelia for optimal health effects.
According
to Shé D'Montford, Shambhallah, from Australia ‘The human body "WILL HEAL"... If we get out of our
own way and allow it, it heals itself. It is our basic nature. Anybody who tells you other than that is trying to sell you
something. No matter what you have been told. Don't give up on yourself and don't buy into the lines like ... ‘oh well
you've had a good life'... 'at your age'... and the worst of all ...'there's nothing further I can do, I suggest you finalize
your affairs'... How dare anyone tell you to give up! So much in society combines to convince us of the propaganda that some
things never get better. It's up to you ... do you want to get better? Make things better? It is human nature to make things
better, evolve and grow.”
